Mint Chip Mocha Recipe – Thin Mint Vibes

This mint chip mocha latte drink is such a treat when you want those sweet coffeehouse vibes at home without actually having to leave the house.

If you are a fan of that classic mint and chocolate combination, this is going to be your new favorite. It’s essentially like having a thin mint cookie in a glass, but with a double shot of espresso to help you actually get through your morning.

My inspiration was mint chip ice cream, but we all have our favorite mint and chocolate treat, am I right?

I love how the chocolate sauce swirls into the milk and creates that beautiful marbled look. It is a total quick win for when you want something that feels a bit more special than your average latte.

Plus, it’s the perfect way to use that Homemade Mint Simple Syrup we made recently. If you haven’t made a batch of that yet, you’ll definitely want to have some in your fridge for this.

I can see this being delish in the summer, but those mint notes also make me think Christmas bev! Right??

Espresso note: If you don’t have a nespresso machine or espresso maker, I recommend stirring 2 tsps of instant espresso powder, like Nescafe or Via Roma into 2 oz of boiling water. Then, continue the recipe!
Here is the nespresso machine I have (and love!). That’s an affiliate link.

Step buy step instructions for mint chip mocha latte recipe

To get started, you just drizzle some chocolate sauce around the edges and the bottom of your glass. It makes the whole thing look so professional and ensures you get a bit of chocolate in every sip. Fill your glass up with ice and then pour in your mint simple syrup.

Next, you’ll add your double shot of espresso right over the ice. While I had a DeLonghi espresso machine for years, I have switched over to a Nespresso for home use – it’s just too easy and SO close to a real espresso shot! I definitely recommend it. (Affiliate link)

If you don’t have an espresso machine, don’t worry—you can totally just use two ounces of really strong coffee – you can even try instant. Espresso will give you more of the coffeehouse feel, but I’m a budget girl, so sometimes we just go with what we have.

Pour in your milk and give it a gentle stir so all those flavors can meld together.

The best part is definitely the garnish. I like to top mine with a big swirl of whipped cream and then shave an Andes chocolate square over the top. If you’re feeling extra fancy, go ahead and add a maraschino cherry.

The mint chip mocha latte is refreshing, decadent, and honestly just as good as anything you’d get at a café. It also pairs perfectly with a slice of Strawberry Matcha Loaf if you’re looking for a little mid-morning snack!
