Cook Time 5 minutes
Servings: 16
Course: Drinks

Ingredients

  • 1 cup white sugar
  • 1 cup water
  • 1 cup packed mint leaves

Method

  1. In a saucepan, add sugar and water, and stir.
  2. Turn the heat to medium, and stir every minute or so until the sugar is dissolved. It takes about 5-7 minutes. Don't allow the mixture to boil.
  3. Once the sugar is dissolved, immediately turn off the heat, and add the mint leaves.
  4. Steep the leaves for 15 minutes, then strain into a glass jar. Store in the fridge.

Notes

A drink recipe usually requires about 2 Tbsp of mint simple syrup per serving.
Use 2 cups of packed mint leaves for a more intense syrup.
